In attempt to create a mystery interaction device, I am going to build a wellbeing bot with a tangible interface. As you could know from the previous posts, I decided to take ELIZA as the core engine for my program. But I have to change the scripts and to get some inspiration I have watched the movie “Her” (2013), a romantic science-fiction drama film, that follows Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix), a man who develops a relationship with Samantha (Scarlett Johansson), an intelligent computer operating system personified through a female voice.

The film shows us how interaction with conscious machine could be very helpful in the beginning, but than it becomes not so different to the human-to-human communication. Moreover, machines learn much faster, so we will become (in a good case scenario) not interesting for them very quickly.

It will take some time to develop artificial general intelligence (AGI) which is capable to think like a human and potentially dangerous for us. So why not to take advantages of the narrow AI, which can make our life much easier.

If to talk about interfaces, people don’t have to adapt to technologies. We should employ existent ways to communicate between people, which were mastered over the thousands of years, in the human-machine interaction.

So I will continue my work on the “weak AI” with tangible and voice interfaces.

P.S. By the way, have you ever noticed, that despite all that technologies which were created to make our life worry-free, it becomes more and more complicated and stressful?
